What constitutes an emergency? If your pet is bleeding, having trouble breathing, cannot walk or put any weight on a leg, has been hit by a car, has fallen from a tall height, is unconscious, has a seizure or fainting episode, vomits repeatedly or has the dry heaves, has a bloated or distended abdomen, eats something poisonous, chews up something dangerous, has an eye injury or cannot open an eye, cannot urinate or defecate, or has hard labor longer than a half-hour.
